THE ARTIST: Johanna von Trapp, portrayed as Marta in The Sound of Music, was the second-youngest daughter of Captain Georg von Trapp and Agathe Gobertina Whitehead. A first soprano with the Trapp Family Singers, Johanna was also a lifelong artist. This design reproduces her original Edelweiss (1984), a watercolor painted on black paper.
EDELWEISS CUP: Bring a little Austrian Alpine beauty to your daily coffee or tea. This elegant cup connects the beloved edelweiss with the family story behind The Sound of Music. The edelweiss was Georg von Trapp’s favorite flower and has long symbolized courage, love, and beauty. Growing high in the rugged Alps, it flourishes where few flowers can survive and was traditionally gathered as a token of love. Today, it remains an enduring symbol of the Austrian Alps and the courage and resilience woven throughout the von Trapp family story.
